The government response to the Great Depression and the Great Recession were different in certain ways, though similar in others. The Depression had a greater decline in economic rates as well as an increase in job unemployment. The government policies were changed and altered to fix the economic issues at hand such as the Recession and Depression. The depression lasted for 10 years, although the Recession only lasted for about 20 months.
